That's her on the right :)She's my best friend. People use that term loosely, but she really is my best friend. She's my 'person', my port in a storm, my hiding place when things get hard.
The first day of high school I saved her from making an ass of herself in assembly. She stood up in front of me - we were sitting on the floor - without realising her leg had gone lame and fell right over. I caught her and introduced myself.
By the time we were sixteen we were inseparable. Its been almost sixteen years... soon I'm going to have known her for longer than I haven't known her.
We've been there for each other through deaths in the family, through serious illness, through times that are too hard and are too personal to mention here.
She comes from a very traditional Greek Orthodox family but somehow still managed to turn into the liberal person she is today. She couldn't give a rat's ass that I'm gay.
Her husband is one of my best friends. We're each others family. I can't imagine life without her.
You are such a blessing to me.
You make my life better.
